Albonetti’s advanced musical training began at the Conservatorio of Music, “G. Rossini,” in Pesaro under Enzo Veddovi, followed by advanced studies at the International Sommerakademie Mozarteum in Satzburg with Eugene Rousseau.

From 1993 to 2003 he resided in the USA where he perfected his knowledge of classical and contemporary saxophone repertory, studying with

In 1993, as part of the Transcontinental Saxophone Quartet, he won first prize in the MTNA Collegiate National Chamber Competition and was Prize Winner at Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. With this group, he recorded the CD Moutnain Roads, distributed by Albany Records, NY, which featured world premiers of compositions by David Maslanka, David Stock and Russell Peck.

He’s been recently choisen by the celebrity chanteuse, Milva, as musical actor on soprano and baritone sax for her new concert tour, Milva canta Brecht (Milva sings Brecht) directed by Cristina Pezzoli. A production by the Piccolo Teatro di Milan toured to major Italian theaters.

He has been honored to receive the first price at priestigious international musical competitions. He was on stage at the Tenth World Congress of Saxophone in Italy and at the Eleventh Congress in Spain and the Twelfth in Canada.

Appointed as member of the jury for important international competitions of saxophone, he has received an award of merit conferred by the North American Saxophone Alliance, “for extraordinary activity in advancing the status of classical saxophone performance around the world.
